Emergency Procedures: Where necessary, we may need to close (or not open as usual). We will not want to appear rude, however we may need to place a note on the door, requesting you to refere to this website for information and updates on re-opening. If a staff member does not answer the door or the phone, this will be because we are busy sorting the problem and need the time and phone line free to re-open as quickly as possible. Please bear with us and thank you for your co-operation. Is Smarties Closed ? Smarties will open open as usual, subject to enough staff being able to get in. However, the authorities are saying that you should not travel unless necessary. Please see Emergency Communications section for today's procedures/closing necessities.
If Smarties has to close for an reason which is out of normal control, a note may need to be put on the door or an answering phone message left for you. We will probably not be able to reply to any messages - so please refer to this website for update under 'emergency information.
Unfortunately, refunds will not usually be able to be made for unforseen circumstances as the staff will still need to be paid for their day if we have to close at short notice. This forms part of your conditions when you accept the contract. Thank you (p.s. we have never done this yet!)
Meols Childminding Network's website can be found at the top of this page or under 'Links' - please support this valuable service for regular contracts or sign-up for emergency cover, as you never know when you may need one! Although I can't recommend anyone other than myself (Yes, I am also a registered Childminder), I can say that I would be happy for my child to go to any one of them!
