Policies and Procedures

We have a rather thick information pack containing all our policies and procedures which we encourage you to review. In particular, you may wish to familiarise yourself with the Settling-in policy, Behaviour Management policy, Medical Emergency procedures, Non-collection of Child procedure, Safeguarding Children policy and Complaints procedure.

If you are a current child's parent/carer and you'd like any copies of policies Emailing to you, please send a request via Email and I'll send it out within a day or so.

Parents as Partners
We always welcome reviews of policies and procedures and any questions or suggestions are always beneficial. We can also expalin any legalities or reasons behind any of them being in place.

We hold termly 'Partnership' meetings, so you can raise views and help the staff shape the way Smarties runs. We are caring for your children, so it makes sense that you have a strong part to play.

Operations
We operate a 'Key Person' system, so you and your child can form strong nurturing bonds with us.
We have a Continuous Provision approach, so children have familiarity with the resources so they can be independent learners.
We use Routines so your child learns patterns and systems and a sense of time - knowing when you will return.
We have Rules - all developed by the Pre-school children, so they take ownership and can self-govern their peers.
