From September 2008 you can choose how long your child stays at Smarties:

Single Session:  9:00am - 11:30am

Double Session: 8:00am - 1:00pm*

or you can choose Single Sessions with wrap-around care either side to suit you between 7:30am and 1pm*. (*11:30am on Fridays)

Smarties is a Pre-School and Playgroup catering for children aged from their second birthday to the academic year before Reception Class. Children attend from the local community of Meols and surrounding areas. We operate from within St. Andrew's Church and although Smarties is a seperate enterprise, we may raise funds for the church.

Our aim is to ensure your child’s

pre-school education  is stimulating and nurturing and we pride ourselves as being - 'The fun place to learn'!

At Smarties our children don’t differentiate between work and play because learning is a seamless process.

We offer an environment which is safe, stimulating and promotes social interaction between children and adults.

We also want you to feel involved as parents and welcome your input.

Health and Safety...

Mathematics: with opportunities for all children to develop their understanding of number, measurement, pattern shape and space by providing a broad range of contexts in which they can explore, enjoy, learn, practice and talk about problem solving;

Knowledge and understanding of the world: with opportunities for all children to solve problems, make decisions, experiment, predict, plan and question in a variety of contexts and to develop IT skills. To explore and find out about their local environment and people and places that have significance in their lives;

Physical development: with opportunities for all children to develop and practice their fine and gross motor skills and to increase their understanding of how their bodies work and what they need to do to be healthy and safe;

Creative development: with opportunities for all children to explore and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings through a variety of art, design and technology, music, movement, dance and imaginative and role play activities. Smarties Aims continued
